We Met Our Son Abel Eight Years Ago Today

8 years ago today we met our son Abel Turner for the first time. He was a scared 6 year old who didn't understand what we were saying or even who we were really. Then started the work of love and connection. It was work for him, for us, hard work that sometime seemed impossible. We would take three steps forward then two steps back. How do strangers become a family? How could he lower his walls? How could we reach him? This journey, wow. what a story. All I know today is the work was and is worth it. Love is worth it. God blessed us with a wonderful, kind, giving, smart, determined, hard working young man that we are so proud of. I Love you son.
