From The Passenger Seat of Vandalf The Grey

Just stopped at Starbucks on HWY 200 in central Florida. We are about to get on to interstate 75 heading north. Heading home.

Depeche Mode is singing People are People on the satellite radio, Dean loves the 80's channel. I have my headphones on, plugged into my new jumbo jet iPhone 6plus that Dean got me for Christmas.

I'm listening to Lana, of course. I bought her two new songs from the movie Big Eyes, which I really want to see.

We watched "Guardians of the Galaxy" on Christmas Eve at Rhett's house. I had never seen it, which I couldn't believe after watching it, it was so good! And the music was literally my childhood. I was a child of the 70s, teen of the 80s, so when I heard and saw the central theme of the movie was the cassette tape from his childhood and that "Awesome Mix Vol 1" was full of the songs from my own childhood, I knew I loved the movie even more. Naturally I bought the soundtrack.

Family, Music and photos, "the cloud" sums up our Christmas vacation. We kept taking pictures and telling my mom, "we put them in the cloud" when she would ask us to send them to her.

The Cloud was definitely the term most used this Christmas.

Candice and I both are addicted to picture taking and now that I have my new phone it's worse, this thing takes amazing photos!

I didn't have my new phone for the Fleetwood Mac concert but wow, so amazing. Most definitely one of the best concerts ever.

Cried when they opened with The Chain, Landslide was perfect and when Lindsay did Big Love...dang.

can check that off my bucket list thanks to Donna and Rhett.

Music is life.

The family softball game was set to the local classic rock station as it should be.

"Knock over my beer and your out" Joe stated

"That's the rule in any softball game" Dean replied.

The next day Joe said "I need to do that all the time or never again." Everyone was sore :-)

We went to hang out with him, Dallas and Gage one night at their house, drank beer, ate pizza and laughed.

Gosh I miss my brothers wit.

As always, karaoke was on the agenda. We did It twice while we were there.

"Should I do 'You Shook Me All Night Long' or 'Pretty Fly for a White Guy'?" I asked Evangeline.

"Pretty Fly for a White Guy but you better bring it, last time you did it was kind of weak."

"Do you have Pretty Fly for a White Guy?"
I asked the cowboy in charge of Karokee  at Cowboy's restaurant and bar.

"No one has ever ask for that song, but yep I have it. I've never heard anyone sing it." Mr Cowboy Karokee said.

I smiled and said, "Well you're about to"

"Give it to me baby. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.

Give it to me baby. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
Give it to me baby. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
And all the girls say I'm pretty fly
For a white guy.
Uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, cinco, seis...

The retires, rednecks and ranchers hit the dance floor, and my rendition of this quintessential 90s skater anthem went down in the Cowboy Karokee history book.

Bayla's obsession with Frozen and singing Katy Perry's Dark Horse in her car seat, complete with hand motions was absolutely the cutest thing ever.

Rhett's ownership of Metalica wrapping paper and the bandana from Through The Never that I've been searching for made me commit the sin of covetous (He has so much music memorabilia he could have a museum).

When we left Okeechobee Christmas Day we went to Dean's mom in Hernando where we finally slept. Gosh that bed was comfortable! And I had this new toy, my jumbo jet iPhone 6 plus to take pictures with. I went a little crazy when we were watching the Manatees and passing the nuclear plant (I swear that place looked like something out of a movie) and then the next night, sitting by the fire was so relaxing.

Brenda sure can cook! She made Dean's favorite foods, Chicken Peppercosch and Biscuits and Gravy.

It was a good visit.

And now I record snap shots of our Christmas Vacation here on the blog. I want to remember this trip, it was a really good one. I'm glad to be on the way home though, I'm getting nauseated and my thumbs are cramping from typing all this on my phone.

So I say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all from the passenger seat of Vandalf (that's what we named our new grey van, Steele and Evangeline thought of it :-). "Fooled Around and Fell in Love " sings in my ears. Dang music on this jumbo jet phone sounds good!

Without music, life would be a mistake.
