God Grew Tired of Us

Lorri lent me this movie. It's a documentary about the Lost Boys of Sudan. I just finished watching it with Evangeline.

Sometimes I fear that the readers of this blog will read my posts and think I am being sensational, dramatic, extreme with my emotions so I try to refrain sometimes. But right now I just have to tell you, my body actually aches. I cried several times while watching this amazing story. Evangeline and I both laughed, felt extreme sorrow and joy for the lives of these boys who are now men. A flooded my mind over and over while watching these boys from Africa adjust to life in America. Evangeline said the same.

My heart is bursting. I will never forget this movie. I know God had Lorri give it to me for such a time as this.

I hope everyone rents this movie.

Here is how it's described on Amazon.com

"An award-winning critically acclaimed documentary narrated by Nicole Kidman GOD GREW TIRED OF US explores the indomitable spirit of three Lost Boys from the Sudan who are forced to leave their homeland due to a tumultuous civil war. Traveling barefoot across the sub-Saharan desert John Bul Dau Daniel Abol Pach and Panther Blor were among the 25000 Lost Boys (ages 3 to 13) who fled villages formed surrogate families and sought refuge from famine disease wild animals and attacks from rebel soldiers. Named by a journalist after Peter Pan s posse of orphans who protected and provided for each other the Lost Boys traveled together for five years and against all odds crossed into the UN s refugee camp in Kakuma Kenya. A journey s end for some it was only the beginning for John Daniel and Panther who along with 3800 other young survivors were selected to re-settle in the United States. The documentary chronicles their triumph over seemingly insurmountable adversities and a relocation to America where the Lost Boys build active and fulfilling new lives but remain deeply committed to helping friends and family they have left behind. The film is produced by Brad Pitt and Dermot Mulroney."

And this is a scene that was left out of the movie but is AMAZING!! This man knows his source like we can't even imagine.

Is this a movie you can rent from video stores like Blockbuster or Video USA?? I went to the website... read everything there was to read and watched the trailer.

I really want to see the movie... any idea where I can go to rent it?

I want to rent this, too!
That was amazing...
Hmmm... gee, I wonder WHY they cut that scene??
Guess it was a tad too religious for the film, huh?
But he is so right; when you call upon the name of Jesus Christ, He is there with you. I love that.
