The Rebel

I was reading a Fast Company article about the way Microsoft is trying to re-image itself. They've hired an ad agency called Crispin Porter + Bogusky. Creative genius, Alex Bogusky, made one of those statements I can't get out of my mind: "Life conspires to beat the rebel out of you."

It's true isn't it?

One of the things I love about Jesus is that He remained the rebel his entire life. He didn't bow to the Pharisees. He didn't bow to Pilate. Truth is, He didn't bow to anyone except His Heavenly Father. That is what it means to be a spiritual rebel.

In the words of Dorothy Sayers: "To do them justice, the people who crucified Jesus did not do so because he was a bore. Quite the contrary; he was too dynamic to be safe. It has been left for later generations to muffle up that shattering personality and surround him with an atmosphere of tedium. We have declawed the Lion of Judah and made him a housecat for pale priests and pious old ladies."

If you want to read some great teaching, check out his blog, it's another one of my favorites.

WOWZER!!! I don't remember your blog having this HUGE map of Africa across its top when I was here a day or so ago. But I love it...since as you've found out, I'm crazy about Africa.

That is so cool about your husband going to Swaziland. When I was there, we visited 2 of the Children's Cup carepoints. They were doing a fantastic job. I'm sure he'll get to meet the magnificent Make GooGoo Dynamite! That lady is a true life hero of the faith and for children. Let me tell you...if a movie was made about her life and ministry, most people wouldn't believe it its that amazing.

I hope he has a wonderful time in Swaziland. I miss that place every single day. If he runs into any of the AIM people (Jumbo and Kriecke, Dennis Brock and his bride Zwakele, the DTS team) please ask him to tell them "hello" from Elysa Mac in Mississippi. Our trip with Children's HopeChest was wonderful and I'm sure your husband's will do the same.

How can you stand him going without you!?!?

Oh...I was wondering something. Is CC's headquarters in your area? A month or so ago I had gone to their website and it seems like I read something along those lines...or maybe a missionary in Swaziland had come from Baton Rouge?

Anyway, I'll be back!

For now...

Grace to you and your's,
Elysa Mac
