Savin Me

I heard this song the other day and I knew it was Nickleback by the lead singers voice but I couldn't help but notice the lyrics were sure sounding like someone calling on Jesus. Nickleback is not at all a Christian group but this guy sure was callin' Him up.

Read for yourself.

Savin' Me
by Nickelback

prison gates won’t open up for me
On these hands and knees I’m crawling
Oh, I reach for you

Well I’m terrified of these four walls
These iron bars can’t hold my soul in
All I need is you
Come please I’m calling
And oh I scream for you
Hurry I’m falling
I'm falling

Show me what it’s like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I’ll show you what I can be
And say it for me
Say it to me
And I’ll leave this life behind me
Say it if it’s worth savin me

Heaven’s gates won’t open up for me
With these broken wings I’m falling
And all I see is you

These city walls ain’t got no love for me
I’m on the ledge of the eighteenth storey
And oh I scream for you
Come please I’m calling
And all I need from you
Hurry I’m falling
I'm falling

Show me what it’s like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I’ll show you what I can be
And say it for me
Say it to me
And I’ll leave this life behind me
Say it if it’s worth savin me
Hurry I’m falling

Yeah, yeah-hey

And all I need is you
Come please I’m calling
And oh I scream for you
Hurry I’m falling
I'm falling
I'm falling

Show me what it’s like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I’ll show you what I can be
And say it for me
Say it to me
And I’ll leave this life behind me
Say it if it’s worth savin me
Hurry I’m falling

And say it for me
Say it to me
And I’ll leave this life behind me
Say it if it’s worth savin me

I have been listening to that song, and I thought the same thing. It's a great song.

Not surprising at all...I'm sure lots of people are feeling the same way...and God has no problem using a "secular" song to do His work!

I haven't heard the song, but will have to agree just by reading it. I will have to listen to it. I do have a question for you. Several actually, How do you know what church is right for you? How do you change paths, if you know you've taken the wrong one? I (we) believe in God and the power of prayer, faith and hope. And I (we) want to make the right desions, But feel I (we) need advice and/or guidence. It is time for a change, would you have any words of encouragement or suggesstions to a new Beginning?

That is a hard question. I saw look for people that you respect, people you think "I want what they have" and ask them what church they go too. Or find the church in your community that is serving the poor and needy the most and check it out. Most churchs have web sites now with a statment of what they believe, read it and see if that sounds like a church you would agree with. I think the main key is too pray for His guidence. When you go visit different churchs, ask Him to show you where to go and He will direct you. Stay in the word, study and pray and He will show you where you are supposed to be.
