Evangeline's College Fund Update
Today
we are down to only owing $550 more for THIS semester. So we are
getting there. I am encouraged most days, but asking for and receiving
money from people is humiliating. Dean working after work and on the
weekends is exhausting for him, me selling everything I can is sad for
me sometime but I know it's worth it.
It's worth the humiliation, it's worth the loss of furniture and it's worth the work because we know we want our kids to have what we did not have. We don't want to miss the opportunity here, This is it, there isn't another life span, As Eminem said,
Look, if you had, one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted. In one moment
Would you capture it, or just let it slip?
Yo
I want my kids to go to college, graduate college, be successful in life however that looks for them. Whenever I get discouraged and think, "What if we can't earn or raise all the money? What if she suddenly decides she hates college? What if she makes bad grades?" Then I just tell myself. "Well at least you tried. You didn't give up. You really did all you could do to set her up for success and for being a well rounded adult. You didn't throw your hands up and quit on your child's education."
I will do the same for all of my children, (and now that we have learned some valuable lessons from this experience with paying for Evangeline's college, we will be better equipped for the boys) because as far as parenting goes, this is it, Evangeline, Abel and Steele, they are my one shot, I will capture it, I wont let it slip away.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to everyone reading this, donating, praying, sending good thoughts. God bless you for being a blessing to us and helping us.
