Work on the House Has Begun

Finally, a month since the Tree-Ent fainted on our house during hurricane Issac, reconstruction has begun. And our little house will look a lot different when it's done. We had them take out the fire place and we also knocked out the wall between my back office and the kitchen so now the kitchen will include a Drop Room or Mud Room, whatever you want to call it.

As far as how long it will take, our contractor said "I'll have you in by Christmas, I wont have you in for Thanksgiving." So we will be in the travel trailer for two more months but it's OK, I have a lot to look forward to when it's all done. That's exciting.

Our contractor also introduced me to the web site, Houz. It is a massive collection of interiors and exteriors of homes. I set up an idea book, emailed it to him and then he has all the ideas of what I want in the house as far as lighting, paint color, kitchen cabinets, flooring, etc. It's probably the most addicting site that I have been on in a while. I'm always on it on my phone (they have an app) and on my computer.

Below is my idea book. I add to it daily :-)
