E's snow morning..
Courtney Dumas and E out by the Levee of the Mississippi River at one of the homeless camps
While Steele and I were sleeping and then outside playing in the snow with our neighbors, Evangeline was first cooking breakfast at 5:30am, and then serving it by 7:00am to the homeless of Baton Rouge. Then the team jumped in their vehicles and drove on these awful slick streets to go looking for homeless people out in the snow and freezing rain. They passed out coats, shoes and hot food to all who needed it.
What is so cool is Frank and Vince (the leaders of No Place Outreach, HPC's homeless ministry) sent out an e-mail earlier this week asking for Men's coats and shoes to hand out to the homeless people. I posted the e-mail on my blog and twittered it and Dan O. also posted it on his blog...
I received this text from Frank this morning "I have seen two miracles today, snow and TONS of coats and it's only 6am"
God's timing is perfect. Thank you to everyone that donated coats and shoes.YOU have been the hands and feet of Jesus this day!
No Place Outreach will continue taking donations while it is winter.
