The Maria Fund

I keep reading and watching things on the web about the death of Maria Chapman. It still makes me very sad. I have teared up many times thinking about and praying for the Chapman family.

Something great that I saw today, yet again, is their hearts. Even in the midst of unspeakable tragedy, they are thinking about Orphans. Instead of flowers they are having people donate to Maria's Fund, which will help people be able to adopt, just like Shaohanna's Hope.

I read this paragraph below on Christianity Today's website. Mary Beth Chapman was responding to a question about if she thought her adopted children would deal with "issues" later in life. Her response is EXACTLY how I feel.

"There may or may not be issues ahead for us," Mary Beth Chapman told Today's Christian in 2005 about her and her husband's future as adoptive parents. "But even if Shaoey turns 16 and says, 'I hate you, I'm going back to China,' I know God put Shaoey in our lives; God put Stevey Joy here, and God put Maria here. Whether it's all peaches-and-cream or it's miserable, this is God's work."

God be with the Chapman Family. They are a blessing to so many. They help Orphans and we are so thankful for that.
