When I start talking about the different veins of Christianity I get a head rush. Like, I have brain intake overload. Yet, I find myself Googling Jesuist-Pauline, Armenian, Calvinist, etc. I have conversations with preacher friends where I find myself saying "so are you a Calvinist?"

I guess I am just too fascinated by why people do and say the things they do and say and why people attach names to their Christian beliefs. It really is fascinating. Heck, we are Catholics, Protestants, Emergent, Emerging, traditionalist, conformist, on and on but we are also even more broke down into Lutheran, Baptist, Presbyterian, etc. It's so complex and just crazy really.

I dig the veins that are named after the founder. Just imagine if today we called ourselves after our leaders? "I'm a Rizzoist" or "I'm a Pastor Larryist". Imagine if your were Martin Luther, there is an entire denomination named after him! or John Calvin, Calvinist are everywhere. I was toying with the idea of calling myself a Lewisian or maybe a Lewisist. As a friend told me, C.S. Lewis would probably be as mortified by that as Calvin was but it would still be fun.

What about we just all call ourselves the F.O.J.C.? "I'm a FO.J.C, a Follower of Jesus Christ." But then we would have to actually follow Him and wouldn't have time for all this nonsense! And there-in-lies-the-rub. cuz' you don't have to die to yourself to be a Calvinist , Armenian or even a Lewisit but you sure do to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me".
