The Healing Place Church Baton Rouge Dream Center has received a grant for a literacy program.

This program will provide training to parents-how to read to their children. It will also teach pre-schoolers how to read and provide both parent and child with books to read.

That is where we come in.

The Wardrobe and the White Tree Book Club is conducting a book drive to stock the library.

(We will also be reading to the children and we are so pumped about that!)

Here is the link to a wish list I started at for the Dream Center-

Please feel free to E-mail me any suggestions for books.

We will take used books, no problem so don't feel they have to be new.

This program is a faith based initiative grant, the Barbara Bush Literacy Grant, so I don't know how donation receipts will be handled. If you send books and need a receipt, let me know and I will look into it.

To everyone who will donate, thank you so much! We are thrilled at this opportunity to help kids read and help their parents teach them to read. You are doing a great thing!

God Bless!!

PLEASE READ this exert from an E-mail from the lady that will be heading up the Barbara Bush Literacy program at the Dream Center...
