The Wardrobe and the White Tree Book Club

I now have another blog. It is for discussion of the books by C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien.

I'm sure all you normal people will not be visiting it much but for us geeky freaks, I'm hopeful it will be a great source of encouragement, wisdom and spiritual growth.

When I stepped back into the worlds of Lewis and Tolkien 5 years ago, God changed my life. My Christian walk was strained at best. I was in a funk that had become so common place that I no longer even felt the sting. God used the words and wisdom of Tolkien and Lewis to reignite my faith, my hope and my freedom. I have learned more about courage, community, fellowship, servant Christianity and the freedom Jesus intended us to walk in, from these two authors then from any other source. "for such a time as this.." Is so true to me about these two authors, right now. The church I am a part of teaches it and lives it, the authors I love lived it, and the Jesus I serve encompasses it. I am learning it and I am trying to live it more each day.
"Mark 12:33..To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
